Orangemen Wins Fall Session

The Orangemen were the ones conducting the mischief in South River on "Hallows Eve" as they dethroned defending champ, Big John's with a 75-70 win in a heated battle at the high school gymnasium overlooking the New York skyline on a crisp fall night.   Fresh off a 65-55 semi-final win over upstart Raceway, the "Men from Monroe" did all they could to overtake the "Men in Orange", which reached the Finals via an 85-73 win over the Millennium  Ballers.  The Orangemen jumped out to an early lead by hitting consecutive 3pt shots in the first 4 minutes of play.  Sammy Cruz, one of the league’s top rebounder, started the game off hitting consecutive  3pt shots for the Orangemen. .   Big John’s did rally back to take a 2 point lead by the half.  The younger legs of the Orangemen were a little much for last session’s champs. The Orangemen wear the crown as the result of balanced contributions from Dan (14 points), Anthony (8 points), Lovell (5 points), R. J. (15 points), Sam (14 points), and Steve (18 points) and tenacious defense which did just enough to stop the defending champs which were lead by Alcides Catanho with 25 points and Ed Behnen scored 17 points.
